CPM terms Srinagar attack as 'act of desperation'
Wednesday, April 6 2005 20:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: The CPM (Communist Party of India-Marxist) today (Apr 6, 2005) condemned the militant attack in Srinagar saying the "desperate attempt" was aimed at disrupting the Indo-Pak peace process, which could lead to a permanent settlement of the Kashmir problem.

Spotlight: Kashmir is Not Negotiable

"The terrorist act indicates their desperation as they cannot disrupt the peace process which is aimed at initiating an intra-Kashmir dialogue which could finally provide opportunities for settling the issues permanently", party Central Committee member Mohd Yusuf Tarigami told sources in New Delhi.

Tarigami, who is attending the 18th Congress of the CPM in New Delhi, said, "The entire population of Kashmir on both sides of the political divide are determined enough to face this disruption'.

He said the Muzaffarabad-Srinagar bus service should go ahead tomorrow as scheduled.
