15 naxalites surrender; villager shot dead in AP Thursday, April 7 2005 10:44 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Warangal:
Fifteen naxalites, including a deputy commander and a division committee member of different groups, surrendered to police in Warangal even as a villager was shot dead in Medak district and the office of Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) was blasted by the ultras, Superintendent of Police S Ravindra told reporters.
One of the surrendered ultras, K Suresh (19), a native of Moddalagudeam in the district, was gunman of Yadanna, an important naxal leader killed in an encounter recently, the SP said.
In Mahaboobnagar district, the maoist blasted a MRO office at Talkondapalli early yesterday (Apr 6, 2005) using detonators.
No one was injured in the incident, police said adding that the building was damaged in the blast.
On Tuesday (Apr 5, 2005) night naxals shot dead a villager identified as N Mallesh, a resident of Mallepally in Medak district suspecting him to be a police informer, a report from Sangareddy said.
