Militants threaten to make Indo-Pak bus a 'coffin' Thursday, April 7 2005 15:34 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Srinagar:
Minutes after the historic launch of the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service, the four militant outfits, which had threatened passengers against taking the journey to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), today (Apr 7, 2005) said that their campaign against the bus service was on and they had formed suicide squads to turn the bus into a "coffin".
"Our attacks have not ended and we vow to turn the bus, which is a deep-rooted conspiracy against the armed struggle for Jammu and Kashmir, into a coffin," spokesman of the four outfits - Al-Nasireen, Al-Arifeen, Farzandan-e-Millat and Save Kashmir Movement - Sameer Abdullah said in a faxed statement to news organisations in Srinagar.
"We will continue with more vigour deadly attacks like the one on the Tourist Reception Centre in Srinagar yesterday (Apr 6, 2005) that shook entire India," the spokesman said adding suicide squads had been formed by the four outfits to continue their campaign against the bus service.
Describing the two militants, who participated in the fidayeen attack, as "heroes and sympathisers of Kashmiris", the spokesman, said their incomplete "mission" would be taken to a "logical conclusion".
Criticising Pakistani opposition leader Fazul-ur-Rehman for his remarks on the fidayeen attack, the spokesman said the statement of Rehman "showed his true colours".
He thanked people for observing a complete strike today and hoped that they (people) will continue to lend their support to the outfits.
