CBI raids residences of the Chautalas in JTB scam

New Delhi: The CBI today (Apr 7, 2005) conducted raids at seven places, including on the residences of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala and his son Ajay Chautala, in connection with the Junior Basic Teachers (JBT) recruitment scam in the State.

The raids were being carried out in Delhi, Haryana and Chandigarh, which include the residences of the Chautalas, a former MLA and the then political advisor of Haryana Chief Minister, CBI sources said.

The raids were part of the ongoing investigations in the JBT scam, a case for which was registered by the agency in May 2004 in which 19 people were named as accused.

In Haryana, the raids were being conducted at Palwal, Sirsa, Kurukshetra and Bhiwani.
