Prospects of Govt formation bleak in Bihar: Laloo Thursday, April 7 2005 20:23 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bihiya (Bihar):
Railway Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Laloo Prasad Yadav today (Apr 7, 2005) claimed that prospects of formation of a popular Government by his rivals in Bihar appeared bleak keeping in view the ideological differences and lack of coordination among non-RJD parties.
''Prospects of Government formation by non-RJD parties are bleak in view of sharp ideological differences and lack of coordination among them'' Laloo said, while addressing a function to open unreserved ticketing system at Bihiya Railway
Station in Bhojpur district.
Stating that RJD was ready to sit in Opposition if its rivals cobbled together a majority, he said, "We will have no objection to it (installation of a non-RJD Government)''.
''But at the same time, we should not be blamed if yet another election is thrust upon the State in the event of their failure to form the Government,'' he said.
Laloo said that RJD was also ''not in favour of continuation of President's Rule for a long period and we are also not responsible for the incidents of crime taking place every day.''
Without naming any political party, Laloo said, ''Those who are glorifying the President's Rule are virtually trying to drive out the poor people as part of their feudal approach and we will not allow this to happen.''
