Nagpur:
Four Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Ministers - Narendra Modi from Gujarat, Vasundhara Raje from Rajasthan, Babulal Gaur of Madhya Pradesh and Raman Singh of Chhattisgarh today (Apr 9, 2005) held a closed door meeting with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief K S Sudarshan, at RSS headquarters in Mahal, in eastern part of city.
The RSS chief is believed to have given them a sermon on good governance in their respective States besides call for strengthening Hindutva with a renewed enthusiasm, sources close to RSS said.
The four Chief Ministers arrived this morning from their respective State capitals and spent nearly two hours at sangh building in Mahal. They later reached the 'Smruti Mandir' in Reshimbagh to pay floral tributes to RSS founder Dr Keshav Baliram Hegdewar, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Modi later in a brief chat with reporters wished the people of Maharashtra a happy new year thereby extending Gudi Padva greetings.
However, the Chief Minister quartet declined to comment as to what transpired during the meeting.
While Gaur maintained that Reshimbagh continues to be our 'prerna sthal' (place of encouragement), Vasundhara Raje said they were in Nagpur to have a look at a project of fuel from plastic waste at Butibori.
To a query whether RSS has given any directives to them to set up similar plant in their states, Raje shot back "no". "Let us look into that first," she asserted.
