Bhopal:
After skipping Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) silver jubilee National Council session in Delhi and taking solace in religious ceremonies at Amarkantak, sulking senior party leader Uma Bharti yesterday (Apr 8, 2005) announced plans to remain in seclusion without interacting with anyone till 'Ramnavami' on April 17.
During "navratri" beginning today (Apr 9, 2005), Uma will confine herself to religious pursuit in seclusion without interacting with others, BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh Warehousing Corporation chairman Sudhir Agarwal said in a statement released in Bhopal on her behalf.
Claiming to have been authorised by Uma to make a statement on her behalf, Agarwal said that the fiery sanyasin would meet people on the morning of Dashmi on April 18.
Bharti, who reached Amarkantak, the origin of rivers Narmada and Son, on April 3 has been performing religious ceremonies and special prayers since then besides interacting with sadhus and saints.
She ended her four-day 'maunvrat' (vow of silence) on Thursday evening (Apr 7, 2005) at a temple in Amarkantak.
