New Delhi: LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) leader and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today (Apr 11, 2005) met Congress President Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi.

During the 30-minute meeting, Paswan is understood to have apprised her of the political situation in Bihar, sources said.

The meeting comes as part of Paswan's efforts to seek support of like-minded parties in a bid to form a Government in Bihar, now under President's Rule.

Last week Paswan had met CPI (Communist Party of India) General Secretary A B Bardhan and NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) President Sharad Pawar separately as part of his ongoing exercise.

LJP has 29 MLAs in the Bihar Assembly, which has been kept under suspended animation after a fractured verdict in the Assembly elections.
