New Delhi:
The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) met in New Delhi last night (Apr 11, 2005) and is understood to have discussed the weekend visit of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf to Delhi besides a number of other issues relating to Indo-Pak ties.
The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, is also believed to have reviewed the Indo-Pak relations in the wake of launch of bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.
The meeting is believed to have deliberated upon the various issues that may figure in talks Singh will have with Musharraf, who has already asserted that he was keen on discussing the Kashmir issue.
Musharraf will arrive in New Delhi on Saturday (Apr 16, 2005) to watch the last one-day cricket match between India and Pakistan in Delhi on Sunday (Apr 17, 2005). He is likely to hold talks with Singh on Saturday.
The CCS reviewed the impact of the launch of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service on the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir and noted the general enthusiasm among the populace despite threats issued by various militant groups.
