Hurriyat leaders to meet Musharraf on April 17
Tuesday, April 12 2005 17:28 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Srinagar: The moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference will meet Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in New Delhi on April 17, Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said today (Apr 12, 2005).

"We wanted to meet the leaders of India and Pakistan when President Musharraf comes to Delhi. Pakistan has invited us to meet the President on April 17 at 4 PM through their High Commission but there has been no positive response from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's office as yet," Farooq told reporters in Srinagar after meeting of the executive committee and general council of the separatist amalgam.

Spotlight: Kashmir is NOT negotiable

He said the amalgam wants to avail the opportunity to impress upon the two countries that a "permanent, honourable and just" solution to Kashmir issue was not possible without the inclusion of representatives of Kashmiris in the dialogue process.

Meanwhile, the People's Conference of Bilal Gani Lone abstained from the Hurriyat meeting.
