Hurriyat unable to meet PM before meeting Musharraf Thursday, April 14 2005 13:42 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference today (Apr 14, 2005) said that it would not be able to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh before April 17 when a four-member delegation of the amalgam will meet Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.
New Delhi had suggested April 14 or 15 for a meeting with the Prime Minister but Hurriyat Conference representatives will be going to Delhi only on April 16.
However, we are open for a meeting (with Singh) after April 17, Hurriyat Chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq told reporters after an emergency meeting of the executive council of the amalgam in Srinagar.
Mirwaiz said Delhi had not so far suggested any new dates for the meeting with the Prime Minister but as and when they do, Hurriyat will discuss it.
The Hurriyat Chairman also announced that a four-member delegation comprising members of the executive council will meet Musharraf on April 17.
"Abdul Gani Bhat, Maulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari, Bilal Gani Lone and myself will form the delegation that will meet the Pakistani President," he added.
