Emergency is near under UPA leadership: Fernandes
Friday, April 15 2005 08:17 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Ahmedabad: Senior Janata Dal United (JDU) leader and former Defence Minister George Fernandes yesterday (Apr 14, 2005) expressed fears that the present Government was likely to impose Emergency.

"The way the Government was functioning, I can see Emergency coming once again in its second edition," Fernandes told reporters in Ahmedabad.

"If the present Government lasts for some more years, then all honest people will land themselves in jail," he said.

Criticising the re-enactment of historic Dandi Yatra, Fernandes said that the recent Dandi Yatra was a "mockery of the Mahatma".
