'Military no more an option for resolving disputes' Monday, April 18 2005 10:20 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf today (Apr 18, 2005) said military option is no more a solution for resolving disputes between India and Pakistan.
"Military option is not an option anymore. Coercive diplomacy is also not an option anymore. Collectively (9/11) has brought to the fore, that we have to move forward and not tangentially. That is where the mindset of the leadership comes," he told Editors over breakfast before winding up his three-day visit.
Musharraf said world has changed after 9/11. "The time for conflict resolution has come. We need to resolve conflicts without brushing them under the carpet."
Ten months of confrontation the two countries had on the borders had spurred tension internationally, he said.
