'Musharraf's visit will encourage Islamic forces'
Monday, April 18 2005 20:05 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Varanasi: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today (Apr 18, 2005) alleged Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's visit to India would not help bilateral relations and encourage only Islamic forces.

"Instead of improving Indo-Pak relations, the visit would provide impetus to the Islamic forces to spread their network within the country with an aim to destabilise it," VHP international president Ashok Singhal said in Varanasi.

He said Congress-led UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government was generating a hype about improvement in Indo-Pak relations in the wake of Musharraf's visit to India and said the Government should not lower its guard on national security concerns following Pakistan's assurances about measures to strengthen bilateral ties.
