New Delhi:
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (Apr 20, 2005) said that India and China have decided to "pro-actively" resolve their outstanding differences.
Observing that India's relations with China have now acquired a "global and strategic character", the Prime Minister said that the two sides have decided to "pro-actively" resolve their outstanding differences including politically settling the border question while strictly respecting the Line of Actual Control.
Contending that China regarded Sikkim as an "inalienable part of India", he said the Chinese side during the just-concluded visit of Premier Wen Jiabao has officially handed over to New Delhi a revised map showing Sikkim as within the international boundaries of India.
