Train mishap: Govt announces ex-gratia amount Thursday, April 21 2005 16:27 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

An ex-gratia amount of Rs one lakh would be paid to the next of kin of the 17 persons killed in the collision between Sabarmati Express and a goods train at Samalaya, near Vadodara today (Apr 21, 2005) Union Railway Minister Laloo Prasad said.
He also said that an assistance of Rs 15,000 would be paid to the injured in the mishap.
Apart from the ex-gratia amount, Railways would also provide employment to a member of the family of each of the deceased in the mishap, Laloo Prasad said at Vadodara airport.
He had visited the accident site and also met some of the injured at the SSG Hospital in Vadodara before leaving for New Delhi.
