Fernandes for tabling Phukan Report in Parliament
Thursday, April 21 2005 08:29 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Welcoming Government's move to table in Parliament the Phukan Commission Report on the Kargil purchases along with the Action Taken Report, former Defence Minister George Fernandes said it should have been done earlier.

"It is a good development. But, the Government should have done it earlier as it had the report since it came to power," Fernandes told reporters in New Delhi yesterday (Apr 20, 2005).

"They (the Government) have so far failed to take a decision in this regard," he said adding that this was yet another example of how the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government was functioning.
