A collection for city girls taking a summer trip

Suneet Verma's Le Spice collection
New Delhi: "Sex and the City," was the name for Suneet Verma's Le Spice collection presented today (Apr 21, 2005) at the Lakme India fashion week - but this collection seemed more suited to the city girl making a trip to a resort. It's happy colours just made you feel like taking off to the beaches of St Tropez. This was a sophisticated line for the city girl who is taking a summer trip.

Though there was one theme for this collection, Suneet presented six different lines. The first had a military feel with a short bolero style military detail worn over a dress really caught your eye. Prints were a must, and belting was detail that Suneet seemed to enjoy playing with.

Tie and dye was another favourite and was used strongly in his second line (though there were elements of tie and dye throughout the show). Beige with soft pinks or oranges kicked of the second segment. Embellished denim too was used, and his denim jacket was given an oriental touch by fastening it with a fully embellished obi-style belt.

His polka dot collection looked perfect for a Sunday brunch in cafe on the sidewalks of St Tropez. Pink and turquoises gave this line a very happy feel. It really belonged to the beach, and Suneet even showed a kaftan with a bikini showing from under. From this Suneet effortlessly moved into a more evening collection, with gold sequin belts, and tie and dye prints. The whole collection had a very young and fresh feel and lace was used as a trim around pockets on the side of trousers. The colour theme too was fresh with lilacs and soft turquoises.

Lastly he presented a more bold casual evening line - bold prints (prints dominated this collection) in bright purples, yellows and oranges. Halters tops worn with bikini bottoms continued the resort wear theme. Priced between Rs 800 to Rs 2,800 (MRP), this was total pret line for the urban girl look to give her cupboard a resort feel.
