Ahmedabad:
Ten Railway personnel, including a station master, have been suspended for negligence in connection with Thursday's (Apr 21, 2005) train collision at Samlaya, a senior Railway official said in Ahmedabad today (Apr 23, 2005).
The officials, who were suspended yesterday (Apr 22, 2005), include two signal maintainers in B-cabin, Assistant Engineer of the Signal and Telecom Department, senior section engineer and the station master who was on duty at Samlaya, he told sources.
Seventeen people had lost their lives and over 125 were injured when the Ahmedabad-bound Sabarmati Express train collided with a stationary goods train about 30 kms from Vadodara, in the wee hours on Thursday.
