Sreekumar's diary against Modi Govt 'semi-official' Saturday, April 23 2005 12:32 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Ahmedabad:
Counsel for Additional Director General of Police R B Sreekumar, who had recently attacked Narendra Modi Government in Gujarat, today (Apr 23, 2005) claimed that the diary in which he (Sreekumar) had recorded conversations between him and the Government officials was not a private one but a semi-official diary.
The diary maintained by Sreekumar was not personal as it had the seal of the then Inspector General of Administration OP Mathur, counsel for additional DGP advocate Anand Yagnik told reporters in Ahmedabad.
Yagnik dared the Government to challenge its authenticity if it wants and said he would see to it that the Chief Minister and other senior IAS officials are summoned by CAT by filing a petition before it.
The diary, in which Sreekumar - who was then the intelligence chief - had reportedly noted how the Modi Government tried to pressurise him to go soft on the rioters and target minorities during the post-Godhra riots, was also presented before the media persons.
The diary would expose the deeds of the Modi Government and his bureaucrats including the principal secretary, home secretary etc, Yagnik added.
