Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Mohammad Shahabuddin's father Mohammad Hasibullah yesterday (Apr 25, 2005) filed a case in a local court in Siwan against District Magistrate C K Anil and Superintendent of Police Ratan Sanjay for ordering ''arbitrary'' raids on their ancestral house in Pratappur village on Sunday (Apr 24, 2005) and ''looting'' valuables.
Hasibullah in his case filed in the court of Siwan Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) A K bariyal, complained that valuable articles worth nearly Rs 1.5 lakh were looted by the force during the raids.
He alleged that valuables, including watches and jewellery went missing after the raids.
Shahabuddin's wife Heena Sahab told reporters at Pratappur village yesterday that the Siwan DM and SP were after her husband and their actions were meant to ''harass'' him.
She alleged that the police misbehaved with women during the search, which she alleged was conducted without any ''proper warrant''.
''The women were searched in front of male constables and other male members of the family'' she said denying the claim of District Magistrate C K Anil that women constables were involved in the raid to.
