Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court today (Apr 26, 2005) stayed police investigations being conducted against Mumbai-based social activist Teesta Setalvad, who is embroiled in a legal battle with Best Bakery case prime witness Zaheera Sheikh, after she had filed a petition quashing the case registered against her and three others in Vadodara.

Setalvad, who was instrumental in the Supreme Court's decision to transfer the Best Bakery case out of Gujarat and later crossed swords with Zaheera, got reprieve today when the Gujarat High Court heard the petition and instructed the Vadodara police to stay investigations.
