INL president Ebrahim Sulaiman Sait passes away

Bangalore: Indian National League (INL) president Ebrahim Sulaiman Sait died at a private hospital in Bangalore today (Apr 27, 2005) after a brief illness, his family sources said.

The 83-year old Sait was admitted to Manipal Hospital in Bangalore on Sunday(Apr 24, 2005), after he complained of breathing problem and passed away early this morning following a cardiac arrest, his son Siraj Ebrahim said.

Sait, who hailed from Bangalore before moving to Kerala later to play a key role in the volatile politics of that State, is survived by two sons and three daughters.

An eight time MP, including one term as a Rajya Sabha member, Sait had 37-years of parliamentary experience behind him, which he put to good use to take up the cudgels for minority rights and issues concerning them.
