Balasore (Orissa): India's indigenously developed multi-barrel rocket system 'Pinaka' was successfully test fired from the Proof and Experimental Establishment (P and E) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation at Chandipur-on-Sea, about 15 km from Balasore today (Apr 28, 2005).

Defence sources said that two rounds of 'Pinaka' were test fired between 12:15 hrs (IST) and 12:45 hrs (IST).
