PM could also induct Telgi and Dawood, says BJP
Friday, April 29 2005 20:59 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Apr 29, 2005) had a dig at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his defence of Railway Minister Laloo Prasad continuing in the Union Cabinet saying he could also induct scamsters like Abdul Telgi.

"It is the Prime Minister's prerogative as to who he should include in the Union Cabinet. Since it is his prerogative, he could also induct Abdul Telgi involved in the Stamp Scam and Dawood Ibrahim," party spokesman V K Malhotra told reporters in New Delhi.

"The Prime Minister saying Laloo's resignation will never be accepted is atrocious. Does it mean that if Laloo is found guilty in the fodder scam and is jailed, he would function from jail as Minister," Malhotra asked.

He demanded a CBI probe into the flood scam in Bihar though of course a judicial probe would be still better.

"It is very essential to have a CBI probe into the matter because the names of RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) and LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) members of Parliament figure among the beneficiaries and the nation must know the names of all those involved in it," Malhotra said.
