Nepal's ousted Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has been put under police custody for seven days after he refused to give explanation to a powerful anti-graft body appointed by King Gyanendra on alleged misuse of funds during his tenure.
After grilling Deuba yesterday (Apr 28, 2005) over alleged irregularities in awarding a multi-million-dollar contract of ADB-funded Melamchi Drinking Water Project as also the misuse of PMs fund during his tenure, the Royal Commission for Corruption Control decided to put him in police custody for seven days for his non-cooperation in the investigation.
