RJD is a serious liability to the UPA Govt: Advani
Saturday, April 30 2005 10:34 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Kuttipuram (Kerala): The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) had become a serious liability to the Centre and that the Congress had 'communalised' the Government by including Laloo Prasad's party in the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president and Opposition leader, L K Advani said in Kuttipuram last night (Apr 29, 2005).

"Until now, we were only discussing about criminalisation of politics, but by including Laloo's RJD in the Ministry, the Congress has communalised the Government," he said addressing a rally held as part of Yuva Morcha's three-day State convention in Kuttipuram.

"Laloo Prasad had already ruined Bihar by ruling the State for the last over 15 years," he alleged.

'The so-called fight witnessed between Congress and the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) on certain issues was only a 'mock battle' and a gimmick to cheat the people, the former Deputy Prime Minister said.

Referring to Kerala, he said during every elections in the State, battle lines were drawn only between Congress and CPM. "However, this time it will be within the Congress and within the CPM," he said, apparently hinting at the factional feud and differences of opinion witnessed in these parties.

"A few years ago, Sharad Pawar left the Congress to form the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Sonia Gandhi's foreign origin issue. Now, senior Congress leader K Karunakaran is planning to form his own party accusing the party of being communalised," he said, adding even social organisations like the SNDP and NSS had come out in the open against Congress in the State, he said.
