An Army Jawan was killed and four security personnel were injured when militants attacked two security patrols in Poonch district, official sources said in Jammu today (Apr 30, 2005).
Militants hurled a grenade on a security patrol party of army during an operation in Harni area in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district yesterday (Apr 29, 2005) night, they said.
The grenade exploded near the patrol party killing a Jawan on the spot and injuring two Jawans.
Militants escaped from the spot, they said adding that the operation was still on to track down the militants.
In another incident, militants hurled a grenade on a police patrol party near higher secondary school in Surankote town of Poonch district yesterday night, they said.
The grenade exploded on the roadside and four security persons, including two policemen and two special police officers (SPOs) were injured, they said.
