Another BSF jawan of 136th battalion kills himself

Berhampur (WB): A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan of the 136th battalion was found hanging in Murshidabad district today (May 3, 2005), a day after a jawan of the same battalion shot dead two of his colleagues and himself.

Subedar Major Surjeet Singh, who was stated to be suffering from depression, hanged himself at his quarter in Lalbagh, Superintendent of Police Sanjay Singh said.

He was under treatment of a doctor for the problem Singh said adding that the body was sent for post mortem.

Jawan Ravindra Kumar Sharma shot dead P G Giri and A M Mamin, of the 136th battalion, inside the Ramnagar BOP in Murshidabad district, with his service rifle before turning the gun on himself yesterday (May 2, 2005).

An inquiry had been ordered into the shooting.
