Lucknow:
A Sultanpur-based trust today (May 4, 2005) filed a petition before the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court for quashing of the order dropping proceedings against 20 people, including BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) president L K Advani and former Union Ministers M M Joshi and Uma Bharti in the Ayodhya demolition case.
The petition filed by Shree Raj Rajeshwari Sita Ram Waqf manager Shivendra Pratap Shahi claimed that his trust was the owner of the disputed site at Ayodhya and the 20 respondents had encroached upon it.
He has sought quashing of the May 4, 2001 order of special CBI judge S K Shukla by which proceedings against Advani, Joshi, Bharti and some others were dropped.
Justice Abdul Mateen, before whom the petition was moved, directed it to be connected to the criminal revision petition filed by the CBI challenging the Special Court's order.
