Bangalore:
Even as the Karnataka High Court rapped the Government for its change in stand on the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project, the State's PWD Minister H D Revanna today (May 5, 2005) sought to add another twist, saying the Nandi Infrastrcture Corridor Enterprise (NICE) has not submitted "alignment plan" for the Mysore-Bangalore Express way.
Responding to a query at a press conference in Bangalore on when he Government would transfer land to NICE to facilitate completion of the project, Revanna evaded a directly reply, but said, "Everything will happen in accordance with law".
The Government was not blocking the project and was ready to give land required for formation of road, he said, but asserted that extra land acquired by farmers would not be given to NICE.
The Government had no objection to the road project, Revanna, who was at the Centre a controversy for setting up of an advisory committee to review the project, said.
Two days ago, High Court had directed that the chief secretary K K Mishra and another official of the Industries Department be prosecuted for "perjury".
The Government has decided to challenge the High Court order in the Supreme Court and defend its officials.
