City court summons Dharam Singh on RSS plea

Bangalore: A city court today (May 6, 2005) ordered issue of summons to Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh to appear before it on June 4 in a defamation suit filed against him by the local RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) unit.

RSS general secretary Mohan Kumar had filed the suit against Singh for making "derogatory remarks" against the Sangh Parivar outfit during the Bidar Lok Sabha by-election and on the occasion of "Gandhi Jayanti" last year.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Gurumurthy ordered the issue of summons.
