Lord Paul delighted over Labour party's win in UK

London: Long standing Labour supporter and NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul today (May 6, 2005) expressed delight over the Labour party's win in British general elections pointing out that it was the first time that the party has returned to power for a third successive term.

Lord Paul, Ambassador for British business who is currently in Malawi, said that the victory was truly remarkable, reflecting the people's confidence in the policies of the Labour party.

The Labour peer is the prominent member of the party's inner circles. The Chancellor of Exchequer Gordon Brown, who may succeed Prime Minister Tony Blair in a year or two, recently spoke very highly of Lord Paul's contributions to Britain and to strengthening of Indo-British relations.
