New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee has summoned a meeting of top Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in New Delhi today (May 6, 2005) in the wake of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's renewed appeal to the Opposition National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to end its boycott of Parliament.

Leaders including BJP president L K Advani would participate in the meeting to be held at Vajpayee's residence and were likely to discuss the PM's statement in Rajya Sabha yesterday (May 5, 2005) on the Opposition's boycott and also key ally Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) decision to end its boycott, party sources said.

Renewing his appeal to the Opposition to end the Parliament boycott, the Prime Minister yesterday back at the BJP-led NDA, saying the country should know that there was a "world of difference" between what they say and what they do.

The BJP led NDA had on Wednesday (May 4, 2005) rejected Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee's appeal to end the boycott and decided to continue with its protest for the rest of the budget session till May 13.

Earlier in the day, senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj had denied the PM's assertion that the Opposition had broken the understanding between the two sides and charged him of "concealing more and revealing less".
