Bush expects PM's US visit to lead to great things Tuesday, May 10 2005 07:38 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Moscow:
US President George W Bush yesterday (May 9, 2005) hoped that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Washington in July would lead to "great things" and issues relating to energy and other matters would be addressed.
Bush had a brief interaction with Singh during the luncheon hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin for leaders who attended the 60th anniversary celebrations of the victory of allied forces over Nazi Germany in World War II.
"Bush expressed the hope that the forthcoming visit of the Prime Minister would lead to great things and issues that relate to our concerns with regard to energy and other matters would be addressed," National Security Advisor (NSA) M K Narayanan told reporters in Moscow.
Singh also had brief exchanges of views with French President Jacques Chirac and German Chancellor Gerhard Shroeder.
In most of these exchanges, there was a kind of spontaneous reaction from these leaders on further consolidating relationship with India.
