SC unveils computerisation plan to tackle backlog

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (May 11, 2005) unveiled an ambitious Rs 650 crore five-year plan for total computerisation of Indian judiciary to tackle the monster of backlog to the tune of over three crore cases pending in various courts across the country.

Talking about the report on strategic plan for implementation of information and communication technology in Indian judiciary, Chief Justice of India R C Lahoti said this plan would invigorate the judiciary and speed up justice delivery system.
