Stamp scam: Telgi gives draft copy of Will to lawyer Wednesday, May 11 2005 20:58 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Pune:
Multi-crore fake stamp paper scam kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi, who is indisposed since May 7, today (May 11, 2005) gave a draft copy of his Will to his lawyer for correction.
"Telgi has made a six-page Will after his indisposition and handed over it to me for correction before its finalisation," his lawyer Harshad Nimbalkar told PTI in Pune today.
Nimbalkar had gone to meet Telgi at Yerawada Central Jail where he is lodged ever since his arrest about three years ago for allegedly masterminding the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam in the country.
Asked about the contents of the Will, Telgi's lawyer said he has not yet read it.
However, Telgi has wished earlier that should anything happen to him, then the possession of his body be given to his relatives based in Belgaum in Karnataka for last rites.
Suffering from acute loneliness, Telgi, an HIV positive and a diabetic, fell down unconscious at his "egg cell" on May 7 after his sugar level dipped and due to low blood pressure.
There is marginal change in his condition and Telgi was feeling weak though he was taken to Sassoon Hospital yesterday, Nimbalkar said, adding he will be taken to the hospital for sonography tomorrow.
