Human failure cause of Sabarmati mishap: Report

Vadodara: The interim report prepared by the Western Railway (WR), Safety Commissioner has said that human failure was the cause of the mishap at Samalaya on April 21, wherein an Ahmedabad bound Sabarmati express collided with a stationary goods train killing 17 persons and injuring 143.

The interim report prepared by WR safety commissioner Prashant Kumar has been sent to the chief commissioner of Railway Safety, Lucknow.

Kumar, who visited the mishap site and Vadodara to gather technical details is to submit the final report within two months.
