Men outperform women in Civil Services (Main) exams

New Delhi: Men have outperformed women in the final results of Civil Services (Main) Examinations 2004, which have been declared.

Of the successful 422 candidates based on written exams held in October-November, 2004 and interviews held in April-May this year, 335 are men and 67 women.

Out of the top 20 candidates, 14 are men and six women, an official announcement last night (May 11, 2005) said.

Altogether, 193 candidates have been selected from general category, including three physically challenged, 118 from other backward classes, 64 from Scheduled Castes and 47 from Scheduled Tribes categories.
