Conspiracy behind recurring death rumour: Telgi Friday, May 13 2005 21:46 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Pune:
Alleging a conspiracy behind recurring rumours about his death, prime accused in the multi-crore fake stamp paper case Abdul Karim Telgi today (May 13, 2005) decried such attempts by his detractors, his lawyers said today.
"My detractors are hoping the worst for me, so that they can get away scot-free. They are not even realising what impact such news would have on my wife and daughter who are so far away from me in Karnataka's Belgaum district. I am tensed and depressed," Telgi told his lawyers Milind Pawar and Prashant Jadhav, who met him at Yerawada Central Prison in Pune and informed him about the rumours.
Telgi has also informed his lawyer Harshad Nimbalkar, who has his brief, that he intended to append a few more things to the draft copy of his Will given to the latter a few days back, Pawar told PTI.
Meanwhile, Telgi, who was subjected to a medical check-up including a sonography, conducted at the Sassoon Hospital, has been found to be having a swollen liver, he said.
Telgi is reportedly ill since May 7 when he became unconscious in his 'egg cell'. His medical reports were today given to the jail authorities. However, when he asked the jailor to give them to his lawyers, the former refused saying that for that an application should be filed in the court, Pawar added.
