Inaugural Bangalore International Marathon begins

Bangalore: The inaugural Lipton Bangalore International Marathon commenced this morning (May 15, 2005).

The event features marathon (42.195 kms), half-marathon (21.097 kms) and celebration run of seven kms. Besides Indian long-distance runners, a few contenders from Ethiopia are also taking part in the marathon.

Celebration run set to start at 9.30 AM (IST) has attracted the largest number of entries, organisers said.
