Sadhu and Subhas hand over keys of Govt quarters
Sunday, May 15 2005 15:14 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Patna: Sadhu and Subhas Yadav, the two high-profile brothers of former Bihar chief Minister Rabri Devi have finally handed over the keys of their Government quarters they were illegally occupying for past several months.

Central Ministers Akhilesh Singh and Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav too handed over the keys of their quarters they had been 'unauthorisedly' occupying despite moving to the Centre, official sources said in Patna today (May 15, 2005).

The officials of the building construction department (BCD) and district administration, who had been trying to get the two Government quarters occupied by them since Thursday along with that of the two Union Ministers, heaved a sigh of relief after Sadhu and Subhas handed over the keys to the BCD late yesterday (May 14, 2005) night, official sources said today.

While Sadhu Yadav is member of the Lok Sabha from Gopalganj, his younger brother Subhas Yadav is a Rajya Sabha member.

The three-day long drama ended yesterday, after Chief Secretary K A H Subramanian gave a 'strict instruction' to the officials to get the quarters vacated 'positively' by Saturday (May 14, 2005).

Under pressure from the High Court, the officials who had on May 12 swung into action to get vacated the Government quarter from 'illegal occupation' of these leaders, visited the bungalows everyday to persuade them to vacate the quarters, but had to return empty handed and only with a promise that it would be done the next day.
