Manmohan Singh to visit Sariska tiger sanctuary
Monday, May 16 2005 08:23 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Sariska tiger sanctuary on May 23 to hold discussions with officials over reports of disappearance of tigers.

"He will be going to the sanctuary on May 23 and spend the night there. During his two-day stay, he will be meeting senior officials," Prime Minister's media adviser Sanjaya Baru said in New Delhi yesterday (May 15, 2005).

Singh had in March constituted a five-member Task Force headed by Sunit Narain, Director of Centre for Science and Environment, to look into reports of fast-dwindling tiger population and also decided to establish a National Wild Life Crime Prevention and Control Bureau.
