New Delhi: New Chief Election Commissioner B B Tandon today (May 17, 2005) called on President A P J Abdul Kalam in New Delhi a day after assuming charge as the head of the poll body.

The meeting was described as a "courtesy call".

Tandon took charge of the office yesterday (May 16, 2005) succeeding T S Krishna Murthy.
