BJP to bring out list of Coalition Govt's 'failures' Friday, May 20 2005 15:19 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
Charging that the Congress-JDS (Janata Dal Secular) Government has compromised the State's interest on all aspects in the last one year, Karnataka's BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) unit today (May 20, 2005) said it would bring out a list of "failures" of the ruling combine by this month end.
Opposition BJP leader in the Assembly B S Yediyurappa, addressing a press conference in Bangalore, took a dig at the style of functioning of the coalition Ministry remarking "both the parties are fighting in streets, but striking settlements at Vidhana Soudha".
Development has come to a grinding halt, corruption is rampant and officials are calling shots in the Government, he alleged.
The Government headed by Chief Minister N Dharam Singh has compromised the State's interest on various issues including in irrigation, tackling of Naxal menace and suffered from "intellectual bankruptcy", Yediyurappa charged.
Criticising Singh leading all party delegations frequently to the Centre, he described them as actions to wriggle out of the situation.
Taking dig at JDS chief H D Devegowda, who promised recently that if his party was voted to power it would write off farmers loans, Yediyurappa said, "When Gowda was Chief Minister and Prime Minister he never thought about farmers welfare".
He claimed that BJP would win Shimoga Lok Sabha and Chamarajpet Assembly seat in the June two bye-election.
