Chennai: DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhakam) President M Karunanidhi has congratulated the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government led by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh on the occasion of completion of one year in office.

"Needless to mention, under your stewardship, significant strides have been made in overall governance, improvement of rural infrastructure, generation of employment, etc", he said in a letter to the Prime Minister late last night (May 21, 2005). "I, once again, felicitate the UPA Government for its successful first year and wish that it will scale still higher peaks in the days to come", Karunanidhi, whose party is a key partner of the UPA, said.
