Patna:
Calling for a bandh in Bihar tomorrow (May 24, 2005) against the dissolution of Assembly, the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) today (May 23, 2005) resolved to parade 130 MLAs pledging support to a Nitish Kumar-led Government.
The legislators - 92 of the NDA, 17 independents and 21 of the LJP (Lok Janshakti Party) would be paraded before the media, Raj Bhavan and the President within three or four days, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) State President Gopal Narayan Singh told sources in Patna.
The State leaders of NDA met here to chart out agitational programmes against the UPA (United Progressive Alliance) Government's decision to dissolve the house.
Speaking after the meeting, Singh said the NDA would observe a "complete bandh" in Bihar tomorrow to press for immediate recall of Governor Buta Singh and also to protest against the dissolution of the house to prevent senior JDU (Janata Dal United) leader Nitish Kumar to form the Government.
He said the meeting also decided to consider exploring legal options against the dissolution.
Singh said NDA workers would burn effigies of the 'UPA Government' and Governor and stage dharnas across the State later today against the 'murder of democracy'.
Singh charged the Centre with dissolving the house 'under pressure from LJP President Ramvilas Paswan and RJD leader Laloo Prasad and people of the State will never forgive them."
