While the overall pass percentage was 77.8, Chennai emerged as the best region, with a pass percentage of 90.

Girls outdid boys once more in the Class XII results of the CBSE. While the pass percentage for the girls stood at 83.17, for boys it was 73.78.

Students made a beeline for the internet cafes, with the results, announced at 08:00 hrs (IST), posted on the websites of the Central Board of Secondary Education -- www.results.nic.in and www.cbseresults.nic.in.

The results are also available on telephone through an interactive voice response system (IVRS) on 011-24357270 and on SMS from all mobile operators.

Though the damage caused by the tsunami waves had forced postponement of the examinations in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, their results were declared today along with the rest of the country.
