Bangalore:
The Sunny Deol starrer movie "Jo Bole So Nihal" has been withdrawn from the theatre showing the film in Bangalore from today (May 23, 2005) following powerful blasts that rocked two cinema halls in Delhi during its screening yesterday (May 22, 2005), in which one person was killed and at least 56 injured, police said.
"The film has been withdrawn by the lone exhibitor screening it and we are on the alert", City Police Commissioner, S Mariswamy said.
When contacted, vice-president marketing, PVR cinema, Tushar Dhingra based in Delhi said, " We have withdrawn the screening of the film from all our 10 PVRs at Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Bangalore, in consultation with the police and the local administration".
One person was killed and at least 56 people including seven women and three children were injured in powerful blasts in two cinema halls in the capital yesterday showing the Sunny Deol starrer "Jo Bole So Nihal" to which several sikh organisations have taken objections.
The film was taken off theatres in Punjab last week following protests by the Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee (SGPC).
