Rs 1 lakh reward announced in Delhi cinema blasts
Wednesday, May 25 2005 09:21 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Unable to get solid clues about the twin bomb blasts in cinema halls in New Delhi, Delhi Police yesterday (May 24, 2005) announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for any information, which would lead to those who had triggered the explosions on Sunday (May 22, 2005) night.

With investigations revealing little about the identity of the group, which had caused the explosions and no one claiming responsibility, police hoped that the reward for "any person or persons with information leading to the arrest of those involved in the blasts" would yield some valuable leads.

"The identity of the informants shall be kept secret and the information can be given on phone numbers 011-23490310 to 12," a Delhi Police spokesman said.

The blasts in Liberty Cinema and Satyam Multiplex, which were screening the controversial movie 'Jo Bole So Nihal' at the time, had killed one person and injured over 70 others.

That the Delhi Police is giving great importance to any information it can lay its hands on can be understood from the fact that the Special Cell, which is investigating it, is believed to have originally proposed a reward of Rs 50,000.
